Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.

Kapi‘olani's Women’s Center and Breast Center at Artesian Plaza is committed to providing Hawai‘i's women with convenient, coordinated health care, along with the support to play an active role in their health. The wide array of services offered at this beautiful state-of-the-art center include osteoporosis screening, massage therapy, physical therapy, ultrasound, bariatric weight loss solutions, patient education, mammography and breast biopsies.

As a Medical Assistant, you will form part of the dedicated team of physicians and medical staff that provide caring, thorough health services to our patients and their families. In this role, you will perform a wide variety of patient care activities with clients of all ages. We are looking for someone detail-oriented and attentive, with strong communications and patient care skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school or equivalent.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience.
• Certification from recognized bodies (e.g., CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA).
• Current American Heart Association BLS CPR Card.
• Ability to complete departmental competency assessment by conclusion of orientation period.

Preferred Experience

• One (1) year back office medical assistant experience in an outpatient clinic, physician’s office, or related experience.
