Summary: Student Conduct and Academic Integrity supports the educational mission of the university by educating students about appropriate behavior, developing their ethical decision-making skills, and helping them understand how their actions affect others. If misconduct is alleged, Student Conduct and Academic Integrity provides prompt, fair, and impartial resolution to the matter, balancing both the interests of the individual student and the community at large.

Typical Duties

The Assistant Director in Student Conduct & Academic Integrity serves to assist the Associate Dean & Director of Student Conduct & Academic Integrity to create an atmosphere that emphasizes student learning, ethical decision-making, and the promotion of a positive culture of integrity and accountability.

The Assistant Director’s responsibilities also includes:

  • Fostering positive relationships with constituents and other university offices;
  • Conducting advocacy, education, and outreach with constituents and other university offices;
  • Adjudicating individual student and student organization conduct and/or academic integrity cases; Being responsible for collecting, maintaining and tracking statistical data of disciplinary actions;
  • Maintaining appropriate documents, notes, and supportive materials within Maxient (case management software);
  • Developing and implement a strategic plan to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the university policies;
  • Attend and represent the Student Conduct and Academic Integrity by participating in various university committees; Create and review department policy;
  • Recruit, select, and train volunteers and support staff; Supervise graduate assistant(s) and/or intern(s);
  • Other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean and Director of SCAI, the Associate Vice President of Student Affairs, and the Vice President of Student Affairs.
