Rover Commercial Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Daily Work Orders: Complete daily work orders, including light bulb changes and routine maintenance repairs such as plumbing, carpentry, and light electrical repairs.
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment as directed, and assist in developing, reviewing, and implementing comprehensive preventative maintenance procedures.
• Operating Logs: Maintain operating logs on all equipment; record, correct, and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences.
• Equipment Inspection: Prepare equipment for inspection and conduct periodic inspections of all mechanical equipment and systems.
• Mechanical Systems: Maintain mechanical equipment, systems, and low voltage electrical systems in accordance with blueprints, diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications.
• Grounds Maintenance: Conduct snow removal and maintain grounds, including common areas.
• General Maintenance: Perform other general maintenance duties as necessary.
  
  

Qualifications

• Building Systems Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of many building systems.
• Work Environment: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Learning Ability: Ability to learn quickly with on-the-job training.
• Self-Motivation: Must be self-motivated with good communication skills.
• Availability: Must be available for after-hours emergency maintenance as needed or required.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift objects up to 100 pounds, frequent standing, walking, and kneeling, occasional climbing, working from a ladder, and balancing.
• Task Management: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to take direction and prioritize multiple tasks and demands.
• Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of an organization, tenants, and subcontractors.
• Driver’s License: Possess a valid state-issued driver’s license needed to travel to adjacent properties or to respond to after-hours trouble calls. Must be insurable at all times during employment tenure.
• Technical Skills: Utilize basic PC-based business software, including Microsoft products for word processing and email. Use systems tools for maintaining service records.
• Hand Tools Experience: Must have experience with hand tools.
• Customer Service: Exhibit excellent customer-service orientation in responding to tenant requests.
• Follow-Through: Display follow-through in carrying out directions from management.
• Teamwork: Demonstrate teamwork skills in relations with co-workers.
• Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a service trade curriculum at a recognized technical school is desirable.
