Opportunity

Under the direction of the Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, the Manufacturing Technician will be responsible for safety, quality, on-time delivery, cost reductions, productivity and continuous improvements in their assigned areas. Primary responsibilities will include meeting performance goals and maintaining quality expectations, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting to production staff, 5S, implementation of Rehlko Operating System/Lean Manufacturing principles.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As a manufacturing technician, you will work on a team that is responsible for keeping production flowing, meeting performance goals and maintaining Rehlko’s high level of quality that consumers expect from our products.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and work effectively with effective stakeholder’s (primarily operations and quality staff) on making the necessary adjustments and/or repairs required for customer expectations.
  • Actively improve manufacturing processes through continuous improvement.
  • Answer and respond to inquiries related to the assembly processes.
  • Maintain and upgrade manufacturing equipment and tools (as necessary).
  • Maintain and update work instructions and standard work (manufacturing process documentation)
  • Actively enhance 5S standards that foster collective employee buy in and ownership.
  • Participate in continuous improvement (KOS events/workshops), productivity improvement and cost reductions efforts in the applicable area of responsibility to constantly improve the process and lower operating costs.
  • Develop safe and ergonomically correct processes.
  • Work with production supervision and maintenance to correct any unsafe conditions.
  • With direct collaboration from manufacturing engineering staff: improve material flow and sequence of operations to assure full utilization of resources and equipment.
  • Monitor production builds, which involves working closely with production and material supervisors, quality technicians / engineer’s, and applicable cell manager’s to ensure production problems are resolved correctly and swiftly.
  • Provide technical support and monitor critical processes in the department.
  • Provide required support for ISO9001. Work closely with ISO coordinating team and production employees to ensure compliance to ISO9001 standards.
  • Follow procedures established for Manufacturing Engineering to execute design changes, implementation of procedures and reference documents, and all documented responsibilities of Process Engineering.

Supervisory Relationships

Reports to Manager, Manufacturing Engineering.

Organization Relationships

  • Frequent contact with Design Engineering personnel to coordinate issue resolution and improvements.
  • Frequent contact with production foreman and production personnel.
  • Frequent contact with Maintenance department to maintain and improve existing machinery and equipment used in production processes
  • Frequent contact with Quality Engineering to maintain and improve quality procedures and ISO9001 requirements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates degree or a high school diploma and 2 years of relevant technical experience.
  • Prior experience as a manufacturing engineer co-op is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical electrical aptitude and problem-solving skill is required; which includes proficiency to logically troubleshoot at subsystem and system level.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and diagrams
  • Experience drawing accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and assisting with corrections to the existing design or process.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions (both written and oral).
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift and bend for extended periods of time; with expected work balance to be anticipated to be: 70% on floor & 30% in office.
  • 5s experience a strong plus
  • Strong knowledge of material flow

The hourly range for this position is $26.80 - $33.50. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
