Description

We are seeking a creative and strategic Director/Sr Director of Creative who responsible for overseeing the development, execution, and delivery of all creative content aligned with the club’s brand identity, marketing campaigns, and fan engagement initiatives. This role is instrumental in shaping the club’s visual and narrative presence across various platforms, including digital, social, and in-stadium experiences.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead the club’s creative direction to ensure alignment with brand identity and long-term vision.
  • Develop and execute creative concepts for marketing campaigns, fan engagement initiatives, and special events.
  • Work closely with the digital and social media teams to ensure all content is visually engaging, on-brand, and relevant to the club’s objectives.
  • Oversee the production of creative content, ensuring high-quality output across various platforms (social media, website, in-stadium displays, etc.).
  • Provide creative direction for all visual content, including videos, graphics, and other promotional materials.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions with the creative team to develop innovative campaigns and content ideas.
  • Develop and maintain the club’s storytelling narrative, ensuring a consistent and authentic brand voice across all touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with Digital to create content that resonates with fans and drives engagement.
  • Analyze performance metrics of creative content to understand fan interaction and optimize future initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the club’s creative efforts fresh and competitive.
  • Proactively identify new creative opportunities to engage fans and enhance brand loyalty.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, including communications, sales and partnerships, to ensure cohesive messaging and branding.
  • Manage relationships with external creative agencies, providing clear direction and ensuring deliverables meet club standards.
  • Lead and mentor the creative team, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Be involved in day-to-day creative execution, from concept development to final delivery.
  • Provide detailed feedback to the team and hands-on support in key projects when necessary.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communication, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in a creative leadership role, preferably within sports or entertainment. Proven track record of successful creative campaigns and content production
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing and scaling production teams.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, video editing software, and other relevant tools.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret performance metrics and drive creative decisions based on data.
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities, with a clear understanding of how to align creative concepts with business objectives and long-term brand strategy.
  • Excellent understanding of digital media platforms and emerging creative trends.
  • Exceptional communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Strong passion for soccer and a understanding of the MLS landscape.
  • Ability to work nontraditional hours in nontraditional settings, including holidays, nights and weekends.
