Overview

US Club Soccer would like to extend the following opportunities during the summer of 2025 to those interested in understanding on and off-the-field logistics that go into executing a premier youth soccer event.

These positions are ideal for sport management students at colleges and universities who wish to gain additional experience in the industry and/or must complete internship requirements as part of his or her curriculum.

Interns will gain hands-on experience through aiding in the planning, on-site execution and oversight of 2025 National Cup events and National Premier Leagues events. Additional information about US Club Soccer and our various programs & events can be found on our website.

Internship on-location dates are from early June through late July. Interns will also be expected to take part in virtual meetings starting in March. Application deadline is Friday, February 7th, 2025.

Description

These individual(s) will assist the on-site event manager by providing administrative and operational support.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Score reporting
  • Event breakdown
  • Referee liaison
  • Coordinating volunteers

  • Participant relations & customer support

Other Specifics

  • Must be making progress towards a degree in a related field (sport management, business, marketing, etc.).
  • Interns will not be required to relocate; rather, the intern(s) will travel to selected tournament from his or her current location. Interns will spend 3 weeks traveling from regional event to regional event, interns will not return home in between events. Interns will have a short break to return home in between the West Regional and National Finals in Denver, Colorado. Interns will remain in Denver from July 5th to July 25th.
  • Interns will be expected to partake in virtual meetings from mid-March to the start of the first event in June. These meetings will support onboarding and prepare Interns for their travel and responsibilities at events. We will also have sessions introducing interns to US Club Soccer staff, review various department functions and give interns broad insight into the US Club Soccer business as a whole.
  • Interns will room with fellow interns for each event.
  • Interns will be expected to partake in a virtual meeting at the conclusion of the internship to recap the summer, provide feedback and close out the internship.
  • If interns are utilizing the internship for course credit, please ensure manager is aware and appropriate paperwork / expectations are outlined in advance.

Compensation

Compensation will consist of a $2,500 stipend. In addition, transportation, lodging, meals and a Nike apparel package will be provided for events. All interns will be expected to be at 3 regionals and all Finals events.

EVENTS

Events will start as early as June 1st and run through the last week of July. Candidates will be required to travel each week (including holidays and weekends) and need to be available remotely prior to the start of events as well as after events for review meetings and recaps. On-site work at events are labor intensive and will require heavy lifting and long hours. Hours can range from 5:00am start to 8:00pm end depending on location, weather, etc. This internship primarily takes place outside, rain or shine. Events include, but are not limited to, the National Cup event series; South Central, Midwest, Southeast, West Regionals, NPL Finals, & National Cup Finals.

South Central Regional (Tulsa, Oklahoma) June 13 – 16, 2025

Midwest Regional (Waukegan, Illinois & Libertyville, Illinois) June 20 – 23, 2025

Southeast Regional (Bermuda Run, North Carolina) June 21 – 24, 2025

West Regional (Temecula, CA) June 27 – 30, 2025

NPL Finals (Commerce City, CO) July 7 – 14, 2025

National Cup Finals (Commerce City, CO) July 17 – 24, 2025
