Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our partner medical center in Manteca, CA. This role involves performing a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures, and working closely with physicians to provide crucial information for patient care.
Responsibilities
Perform Nuclear Medicine Procedures: Conduct a range of nuclear medicine exams, including bone scans, cardiac stress tests, and thyroid scans, using radiopharmaceuticals and specialized equipment.
Radiopharmaceutical Preparation: Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately, following established protocols and radiation safety guidelines.
Equipment Operation: Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment, such as gamma cameras and SPECT/CT scanners, to acquire high-quality images.
Image Processing and Analysis: Process and evaluate images to ensure diagnostic quality and assist physicians in interpreting findings.
Patient Care: Provide compassionate care and support to patients throughout the imaging process, addressing any questions or concerns.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including procedures performed, dosages administered, and any relevant observations.
Quality Control: Participate in quality control measures to ensure optimal equipment performance and compliance with safety standards.
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience preferred.
Certifications
CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
State license if required
