You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience conducting information security audits and ensuring compliance with industry standards; implementing security measures to safeguard sensitive information and mitigate risks; and developing and maintaining security policies to support organizational integrity and confidentiality. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Information Security Personnel Security Physical Security Security Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series. This is a Career Program (CP) 35 - Intelligence position.
- Performs duties primarily in Information Security (INFOSEC), Personnel Security, Industrial Security, Access Control, Personal Security, Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP), Physical Security, and investigating security violations.
- Serves as the Signal Battalion physical Security Specialist responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and implementing an appropriate physical security/crime prevention program.
- Administers and maintains continuing responsibility and management of the personnel security program by implementing parent Agency/Agency and local policies and procedures.
- Monitors the information security program through development of instructions, policy, procedures, and program reviews.
- Monitors and manages the Industrial Security Program per relevant guidance (e.g., the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)) and other parent Agency/Agency or local policies and procedures.
- Monitors and briefs the current force protection stance.
- Monitors the contractor’s performance and notifies the contracting officer representative (COR) of any deficiencies during surveillance and recommends appropriate actions to effect correction.
- Monitors the Intelligence Oversight Program to ensure operations are carried out effectively, while ensuring activities that affect U.S. personnel are carried out in a manner that protects the Constitutional rights and privacy of such persons.
