Video Production Intern

About The Position

The Midland RockHounds, the Double-A Affiliate of the Athletics, are currently looking for eager, hard-working individuals to join the team for the 2025 season!

Our goal is to provide real hands-on experience that can be used to land leading roles within the highly competitive professional sports industry.

The Midland RockHounds Video Production Intern reports directly to the Manager of Fan Experience and is responsible for providing the best entertainment experience possible for our fans, by creating and executing graphics and videos for in-stadium entertainment as well as social media. This paid position begins in spring 2025 and will conclude at the end of the 2025 season.

Main Responsibilities

• Shoot and edit video content for use on video boards, social media, and TV commercials (player highlights/park promotions/mascot and community videos, etc.)
• Assist in the planning and execution of media day events, capturing interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and promotional content.
• Develop a continuous rotation of hype videos throughout the season, ensuring fresh and exciting content is available for fans and players.
• Record video footage during games, expanding beyond live feed cameras to capture unique angles and moments for future content.
• Create engaging and dynamic video content focused on individual players, particularly pitchers, to showcase their skills, backgrounds, and highlights.
• Create digital graphics and animations for video boards, signage, print, and social media outlets. Examples include headshots, lower thirds, sponsor advertisements, and between-innings game animations.
• Program created content onto video boards and broadcast computers.
• Daily logging of B-roll from games and events .
• Work roughly 70 home games and other special events during season within production department including but not limited to: Camera Operator, Music Coordinator, Technical Director, Instant Replay Operator, Video Board Coordinator .
• Daily maintenance of video camera and press box equipment
• Be an active member of the promotions staff by contributing creative ideas for theme nights, social media content, etc.

Experience/Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed a bachelor’s degree in field relative to video production from accredited four-year college or university.
• Strong professional knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Services - Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop.
• Proficient knowledge of video production equipment including cameras, microphones, video switchers, etc.
• Ability to multitask and complete tasks within deadlines.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible and demanding hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Preferred start date is March 1st.
