The Bureau of Asset Management is responsible for oversight of the investment portfolios of the five New York City pension systems. Through a culture of collaboration, individual development, and teamwork that leverages diverse talent and strives for continuous improvement, the goal of the Bureau of Asset Management is to achieve exceptional investment outcomes for all stakeholders; to deliver outstanding support to plan Trustees; and to serve as a responsible steward of the resources of plan beneficiaries and the City of New York.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. Responsibilities of the Asset Management/ESG Intern include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with conducting due diligence of asset managers across asset classes to assess their ESG and DEI policies and practices
- Assist with monitoring asset managers across asset classes including but not limited to maintaining a spreadsheet of ESG and DEI diligence assessments and engagements of managers
- Assist, as needed, with research and tasks related to the Systems' net zero implementation plans
- Conduct research and analysis of developments in ESG policy, best practices and frameworks in priority areas
Important
- Our office is located at the David Dinkins Municipal Building, 1 Centre St. in Manhattan/New York.
- All interns will work in-person in the office, Monday – Thursday, 28 hours per week.
- The employment period will be from June 2 – July 31, 2025.
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in an accredited college, university or law school.
