Recycling Support Manager
City of St. Petersburg
This is responsible administrative and professional work in coordinating activities related to the selection, collection and disposal of containerized recyclable waste materials. Work involves responsibility for the recycling division’s route planning, design and software products associated with the planning and implementation of existing single family and new recycling service levels for multi-family and commercial customers.
Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:
- Have a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Have considerable progressive training and experience in municipal recycling collection and disposal operations, including some progressive administrative management staff experience in personnel management, information systems, and program development.
- Have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Be able to prepare and maintain detailed reports of activities.
- Be able to effectively communicate to City Council, HOAs, schools, and other organizations and appropriately tailor those communications to each group.
- Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, you must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster.
Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:
- Have a valid Bachelor’s Degree.
- Have knowledge of the geographic characteristics of the City.
- Are able to efficiently and effectively multitask, responding to rapidly changing administrative demands.
- Are skilled at record keeping, document maintenance, and planning and organizing.
- Have experience with procurement policies and procedures in the creation of requests for bids, proposals, etc.
- Have experience managing municipal contracts.
