Compliance Analyst Associate - Investigations

Main Purpose of Job
The mission of the Maryland Board of Physicians is to assure quality health care in Maryland through the efficient licensure and effective discipline of health providers under its jurisdiction by protecting and educating clients/customers and stakeholders and enforcing the Maryland Medical Practice Act. The main purpose for the Compliance Analyst Associate position is to assist with the investigation of cases and other compliance issues and questions at various stages and levels of investigation. This primarily includes, but is not limited to, assisting the Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) Unit with monitoring and investigating the results of criminal history background checks of applicants and licensees pursuant to Health Occ. §14-308.1.
The Board of Physicians may ask candidates to demonstrate certain skills through an assessment. Individuals selected for an interview are expected to demonstrate knowledge of center initiatives by reviewing the Board's website.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Four years of experience conducting investigations in the area of health care, insurance, medical malpractice or other related investigative experience as defined by the Maryland Board of Physicians.Notes:
- Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Legal or Investigator classifications or Legal or Investigator specialty codes in the Investigation field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience coordinating and assisting in case preparation.
- Experience interpreting statutes and regulations.
- Proficient in Excel and good writing skills.
- Experience writing summaries.
