Assistant Director for Campus Programming
Day To Day Responsibilities
Job Related Minimum Required Education And Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications
Related experience, specifically student advising in a campus programming office or student activities area. May graduates will be considered if they will be able to obtain their degree by the date of employment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of the basic principles and theories of student development, educational administration, and public relations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff and the general public, to identify, develop and implement programs and activities that will benefit the campus community, and to develop budgets and monitor expenditures. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high volume environment and possess a great deal of flexibility. Ability to work independently when not working as part of the team; possess and sustain a high energy level and exhibit a positive attitude.

Provide leadership and advisement to Carolina Productions in all aspects of their programmatic efforts. This includes contract negotiations, mitigating risk, budget management, and coordinating with various campus and community partners to produce high quality and impactful traditional events and campus programs. Meets consistently with student leaders to offer support, advisement, and leadership development. Manage Beyond the Classroom Matters engagements for organizational leaders.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 30 Job Duty
Manage the delivery of milestone student events on behalf of unit including, Flick on the Field, Midnight Breakfast, Gamecock Athletics Watch Parties, Live@The Underground, student employee training, conferences, campus wide events, and other initiatives on behalf of the Division of Student Affairs and Department of Student Life.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 25 Job Duty
Directly hire, train, evaluate and supervise one professional staff member, graduate assistant, and practicum and intern students of the unit. Provide effective leadership and professional development for Campus Programs staff members including graduate assistants and students. Ensure that each staff member has a clear understanding of their responsibilities and roles and how their work supports the success of the broader team.

Serves as a contributor to the assessment and reporting processes for Campus Programs activities and programming, including tracking and collection of data related to outreach outcomes. Interpret, apply and recommend changes to university policies regarding program planning and execution

Sets and oversees unit’s operational and student organization budgets according to University policies to ensure stewardship of all activities, programs and related inventories. Manage marketing, and risk management for the unit. Manage and deliver robust outreach plan to inform campus and partners of unit calendar and programmatic offerings annually.

Serve as a member of the Campus Programs/Russell House University Union staff by meeting regularly with supervisor, attending staff meetings, participating in departmental and University-wide committees, and developing and supporting internal and external program initiatives.

Day To Day Responsibilities
- Advise Carolina Productions in all aspects of programmatic efforts- including contract negotiations, mitigating risk, budget management, and coordinating with various campus and community partners

- Tracking and collection of data for outreach outcomes
