Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to serve in a multitask position that may be cross-trained in a variety of medical care-related functions, including verifying patient eligibility via the online KDP eligibility file and checking patient application status via the KDP application intake file. This position will respond to inquiries from applicants, recipients, pharmacies, medical providers, patient advocates and others to provide information and resolve complaints. This position will also update and maintain the KDP eligibility application intake file. This position will process and mail monthly KDP patient recertification notifications. This position will also complete monthly KDP applications and claims statistical reports and other reports. This position will maintain the KDP forms/letters inventory. This position will complete any clerical duties associated with the functions listed above and provide program support as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or State entitlement program.

Notes:

  • Candidates may substitute additional general clerical experience on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
  • Candidates may substitute thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.

Desired or Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience responding to inquiries and resolving complaints in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience/skills in organizing work and multitasking.
