Job Description Summary
The Coordinator Cost Estimating will lead and manage all financial responsibilities related to the development of Business Cases and Cost Analyses for product programs. You will work as a key member of a cross-functional team, involved in activities like quoting new business, costing engineering changes, valuing make/buy scenarios, and cost reduction opportunities. The position is responsible for monitoring and reporting the financial health of new programs until the start of regular production.
Job Description
- Coordinate with other functions to develop a business case and quote for opportunities
- Assist Sales team in quote preparation and run various pricing/volume scenarios as required
- Conduct various cost analyses, make vs buy studies, and evaluate cost reduction initiatives for financial feasibility
- As part of the program launch team, participate in team meetings to remain up to date with program changes
- Report financial status of product programs at Program reviews with the management team
- Support plant finance to develop Activity-based cost models and manufacturing costs/rates
- Work with different regions on customer, program, and product margin analysis
- Actively contribute to departmental initiatives/process improvements to enhance the overall department’s effectiveness
- Support ad-hoc quick cost analyses as per management request
- All other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Education
- Bachelors Degree in Finance/Accounting/Engineering with knowledge of Costing processes
- 5+ years of Experience working in the Automotive industry
- 3+ years of experience in handling business case studies preferably in Automotive
- 3+ years of experience in MS Excel
