The Verification of Benefits Specialist will be responsible for verifying patient benefits for insurance coverage, specifically for services related to Substance Abuse and Mental Health. This role requires interacting with insurance providers, utilizing insurance portals, and working with live representatives to confirm coverage details, billing codes, and authorization requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of billing codes, insurance procedures, and HIPAA compliance.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, insurance reps, and internal teams.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documenting benefits and coverage information.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and maintaining confidentiality.
- Proficiency in using office software and insurance verification systems.
- Verify patient insurance benefits for Substance Abuse and Mental Health services via portals and live representatives.
- Document insurance coverage details, including co-pays, deductibles, and authorization requirements.
- Communicate with insurance companies and patients to resolve discrepancies or coverage issues.
- Apply appropriate billing codes and procedures for mental health and substance abuse services.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance by safeguarding patient information.
- Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage and resolving related concerns.
- Collaborate with internal teams (admissions, billing, clinical) for seamless service delivery.
