Job Summary
To serve New Life Church by co-laboring with the Kids Ministry Team to provide a fun, safe, and edifying environment at New Life East Kids with specific influence to how the classrooms are managed for small group meeting times on Sunday evenings.
Duties and Responsibilities
Weekly:
- Report directly to Kids Director
- Lead and manage classrooms during evening/possible midweek events
- Sunday nights. Possible Tuesday evenings.
- Teach lessons when applicable
- Foster a sense of belonging/connection with children and families
- Uphold New Life Kids values, standards and language
- Assist in set-up and tear-down
- Support greater needs of the ministry when necessary
- Hall monitor, classroom organization, cleaning toys, etc.
Other:
- Attend all required team meetings
- Demonstrate ongoing financial support of the ministry and mission of New Life Church
- Participate in additional meetings when requested.
- Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries of New Life Church.
- Cooperate with the Kids Director by performing any other duties when asked to do so
- Be on time for designated shift
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude
- Maintain confidentiality when discussing behavioral/specialized needs issues
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Manage and respond to calls and emails as needed.
- Assist the department in coordinating various tasks and procedures.
- Communicate regularly with supervisor about departmental issues.
- Assist supervisor with special projects, events, and diverse tasks in support of the department.
- Utilize a thorough understanding of the New Life Church employee policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate ongoing financial support for ministries of New Life Church.
- Be an active, participating member of New Life East; maintaining a lifestyle of prayer and personal growth in Christ.
- Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment.
- Cooperate with leadership by performing any other duties when asked to do so.
Education and Experience
Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Experience: 1-2 years of related experience
Working Conditions and Requirements
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds.
- Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Close visual acuity is necessary to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
