Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.


Description

The Program Manager, Talent Pipeline Strategic Workforce Planning will be a part of the People, Purpose & Brand (PP&B) Talent Pipeline organization, a team that partners with business and function leaders to define talent needs for today and tomorrow and co-create offerings in service of selecting and developing our talent and evolving our diverse, global workforce to grow and contribute to our shared purpose and enterprise goals.


You will be responsible for setting and maintaining the Strategic Workforce Planning capability to support a skills-based talent strategy. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and managing workforce planning strategies that align with our organizational goals and ensure we have the right talent in the right roles at the right time. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. As a part of the Pipeline Planning & Programs team, you will also provide global thought leadership which may include partnering, guiding and directing other talent professionals who design and implement solutions that can be scaled across the enterprise.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Workforce Strategy Design and Development:
    Design and execute comprehensive workforce planning strategies that support the company’s short-term and long-term business objectives. Collaborate with business leaders to understand talent needs and translate them into actionable workforce plans. Lead the identification of critical workforce gaps and develop strategies to address them.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze workforce data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities. Partner with talent analytics team to prepare and present reports and dashboards to senior management to facilitate informed decision-making. Analyze workforce trends, turnover rates and market data to inform planning decisions.
  • Talent Forecasting: Collaborate with business leaders to forecast talent needs based on current and future business demands. Partner with Talent Analytics team to develop predictive models to forecast staffing requirements.
  • Skills Architecture and Role Segmentation: Optimize workforce resources by assessing current skills and capabilities and making recommendations for hiring, training, and development initiatives. Define and maintain skills framework to support workforce planning. Segment roles based on strategic importance, criticality and skills demand.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross functional stakeholders from HR, finance, and operations teams to ensure alignment of workforce plans with business priorities. Facilitate regular workforce planning reviews and communicate insights to senior leadership. Act as trusted advisor to leaders on workforce planning best practices and strategies.
  • Program Development and Process Improvement: Design scalable workforce planning processes and tools for enterprise-wide adoption. Continuously evaluate and improve workforce planning processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Stay updated on industry trends, tools and best practices to keep the program innovative and competitive.
  • Change Management: Lead change management initiatives related to workforce planning and ensure smooth transitions during organizational changes or restructures.
  • Talent Management: Strong understanding of talent management principles including talent acquisition, talent development, retention etc.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in Workforce Planning, Strategic HR roles or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and managing workforce planning programs in a complex organization.
  • Proven experience in project management, with strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) Principles in workforce planning.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strong command of data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in HCM (human capital management) systems and workforce planning software; experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of labor market trends and employment law is preferred.
  • Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, SPHR) is a plus.
